06/10/05 29/09/05 22/09/05 03/09/05 SEP 2005 Dirty Love will be playing alongside Jayne County and Menace at Punk Aid in Czech. The festival is in Teplice (about an hour from Prague) on Friday September 30 and Saturday October 1. We're on at 2.30pm on Saturday. The line up includes Loikaemie, Los Paraliticos, The Anoraks, Age Of Chaos, The Roosters, NVU and Model 77. Expect camping, cheap booze and filthy hangovers. Bob Geldof did ask us to play Live 8, of course, but we don't approve of his hair do. Dirty Love have a new site on Myspace where you can download MP3s and get an eyeful of our fans. MAY 2005 We've done an interview with Rebeccca from punk rock online bible Punk & Oi! in the UK. You'll also be able to find out the latest Dirty Love scandal in the next issues of Cat's Penis and Suspect Device fanzines.
Sorry boys, you missed your chance. Dirty Love bassist Clara got hitched to
Marvin (of Varukers fame) on May 7. Deadline, Demented Are Go, Las Vegas Elvis and Rabies
Babies provided the entertainment at the reception. The Dirty Love debut EP is now available to buy on CD. Click here to buy one online, priced £4 including P&P. OR you can download 'Baby You Suck' and 'Time To Go' for FREE on our Music page.
The tracklisting is:
Baby You Suck The songs were recorded over three days at J Studios in Hackney. And it ROCKS like a crack factory in Gibraltar. MARCH 2005 The singer of seminal crustcore band Doom died last month. Details of Wayne's death aren't yet known but it is believed to be related to his epilepsy. Dirty Love were due to support Doom in Bristol on May 1. Obviously the gig will not be going ahead and Dirty Love offer our best wishes to everyone who knew Wayne. Rest in punk. This month's Punk Aid festival has been cancelled. The punk weekender in Hemsby, Norfolk, was called off due to poor advance ticket sales (they obviously didn't know Dirty Love had been added to the bill) and the event's main sponsors going bust. Dirty Love were booked for the Friday night. The Dirty Love demo has been recorded and will get its final mix later this month. It'll be your first chance to hear 'Tastes So Good', 'Crazy Love', 'Time To Go' and 'Baby You Suck'. The demo, which will be available to download on this site, was recorded over two days at a studio in Hackney. We're playing with UK SUBS, MENACE and THE ANORAKS, plus a special guest from the USA this Sunday March 20 at The Standard in Walthamstow. The gig is to raise money for Punk Aid, which got cancelled. It's £6 in and doors are open 6pm until late. The venue is opposite Blackhorse Road tube station. More info on Punk Aid further down. Cheers to everyone who braved the sub-zero temperatures in the Poison Depot last week to see us. The Pigeons pub in Stratford lost its music licence just TWO days before the gig supporting Varukers. So the gig was moved at the last minute to a squatted warehouse in East London. And it was fuckin freezing.
FEB 2005 Albert Awful was seen recently on telly playing in a band with Jonathan Ross and Vic Reeves. Our spiky blond guitarist played bass for spoof band Fat Punks in Ross's BBC Three documentary FU-2. You can catch Dirty Love supporting veteran punkers Chelsea at the Garage in Highbury, London on Feb 4. The Lurkers and 999 were booked for the night but Chelsea stepped in when they had to cancel. Original member Jeff Miles will be flying in from the States to play bass. |
